CMTA’s list of neurotoxic medications is good to check no matter the cause of your neuropathy.

CMTA, an association similar to Calgary Neuropathy Association but specific for people with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) Disease (a hereditary neuropathy), has compiled an excellent list of neurotoxic medications.  Make yourself aware of these medications as they may increase damage to nerves.  It is also a good idea to give a copy of the list to your doctor to raise their awareness.  If your doctor recommends one of the medications on this list, have a frank discussion with him/her about the potential risks vs. benefits and other alternatives.
