Pain Management with Donna Piercy – Part 2

Donna Piercy spoke at the CNA September 2017 meeting. “I’d rather have a vet for a doctor, they know more about chronic pain!” A chronic pain sufferer herself, she provides helpful insights into the importance of self-management and ways exercise and other self care activities can help both the mind and body when dealing with chronic pain.

Donna Piercy is a Registered Psychologist who provides her services in Calgary and also provides counselling through the Airdrie Counselling Centre. Her belief in the importance of the mind/body connection is central to her practice. Donna provides counselling to individuals experiencing a variety of difficulties which including managing chronic pain and chronic health challenges, complex trauma such as accidental injury (such MVA), brain injury, work-related injury and lifelong trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, anger, stress management, self-esteem/self-efficacy issues, addictions, eating disorders, and life stage issues such as grieving and health crisis intervention. She also provides workshops to both professionals and groups on topics such as, chronic pain, stress management and depression management. Donna is approved by most insurance companies, WCB and works with individuals who have been personally injured. She can provide assessments for areas such as chronic pain.
